Scientific Worldview
It appears.
Appearances are reflections of the universe.
Universe changes according to specific rules. Rules are
immutable in space and time. Many rules can be derived from a
few basic ones.
From a known state of the universe, its past and future states
can be determined more or less accurately.
People make assertions about the universe. Assertions can be
true, false or neither. Observation and experiment are the
ultimate test of truth.
People do not have free will and suffer the consequences of
their deeds.
Deeds can be good, bad, or neither. Happiness and suffering of
all influenced beings are the ultimate measure of good.
There is no god who created and rules the universe, or who
rewards and punishes people.
Living beings do not have souls which survive their death.
Theism is invention of and consolation for people who are
suffering and affraid of death.
Institutionalized theism is benefitial for priests and rulers,
and detrimental for the rest.
